We recognise the importance of taking time to rest. That’s why we offer our Respite and Recovery breaks—providing free, restful retreats in beautiful locations across Great Britain through our holiday partners.

Are you eligible for a respite and recovery break?

You may be eligible for a Respite and Recovery break if you meet one of the following criteria: and you have not accessed a respite break within the past 3 years.

Experiencing a life changing event eg beraevament or relationship breakdown

Life threatening / changing illness diagnosed iwthin the past 12 months

Life-threatening or life-changing illness diagnosed within the last 12 months.

Acute injury or medical condition.

Terminal illness.

Diagnosed acute mental illness.

Essential retreats for respite and recovery

Your application is reviewed, and you'll be informed of the outcome within seven days.

Terms and conditions

These terms outline how Respite and Recovery breaks are reviewed, booked and allocated, ensuring support is provided fairly and appropriately.

Application review

All applications are reviewed by our Clinical Services Manager, with responses provided within seven days. Applicants will be notified if additional information is needed during this process.

Follow-up and reserve list

If a booking isn't made within the 8-week timeframe, we will follow up once before closing the application. We maintain a reserve list for any cancellations, ensuring opportunities for those in need.

Frequency of breaks and booking timeframe

Typically, one Respite and Recovery break is allowed per three-year period with our partners Parkdean or Pure Leisure, though exceptions may be made based on individual circumstances. Breaks must be booked no more than 8 weeks in advance.
